The team:
The Engineering department drives technical capability for Operations and design quality for Sales, with an additional dose of administrative support. Based on the powerful Nedal Strategy, priorities are set by the Operations MT and stakeholders. The Engineering department cuts its teeth on projects that are cross-departmental or acts as a saving grace when capacity is lacking in specific departments.

What will you do?
As Lead Engineer at Nedal, you are a hands-on professional who leads a team of project leaders, engineers, constructors and administrative staff. Together, you will work on improvement projects, capex/opex projects, new product development and providing input for sales towards customers and tenders, such as those for road infrastructure.

In this role, you are responsible, together with your team, for setting up and monitoring the planning and budget of your part of the project. You ensure that customer requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions. With your colleagues, you will create synergy, provide support and ensure broad employability, with the engineering department acting as the organisation’s technical knowledge centre.

Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Managing a team of Engineers and structural engineers ranging from 4 to 8 colleagues
  • Implementing project methodology according to the “waterfall” method Establishing,
  • updating and monitoring standards and procedures
  • Develop and implement a Continuous Improvement roadmap based on Lean
  • Writing business cases
  • Translating customer requirements into technical solutions within the various markets
  • Writing design documents, performing requirement verifications and ensuring that calculations and drawings are set up correctly within your team
  • Monitoring consistency within and between the various sub-installations
  • Developing and sharing reports and KPIs
  • Coordinating with suppliers and clients
  • Setting up, directing and monitoring the work process
  • Budget control Capex and Opex
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices department-wide and Purso-wide

What is your profile?
You have HBO working and thinking level, preferably in a relevant direction. You have an affinity with industry and understand the specific challenges involved. You have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position and with multidisciplinary teams. You describe yourself as an empathetic professional with excellent communication skills and perseverance. One who leads his/her team by example. You have experience with Autocad, SolidWorks, Siemens, etc. and are able to take the design from contract requirement to a manufacturable execution design. These include: machine builders, automotive, event industry, loading and lanterns, etc.
